EXTender 1000
Iwatsu's EXTender 1000, developed by MCK Communications specifically
for Iwatsu, is single-user equipment that provides off-site employees
with full access to ADIX APS / ADIX-VS features over a dial-up Public
Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) connection.
EXTender 1000 SIM Switch Interface Module
The EXTender 1000 SIM Switch Interface Module is installed at the main
location. It contains one RJ-11 connector for an ADIX Digital Station
Port, one RJ-11 connector for an analog line/analog station port, and
one DB9 connector for RS232C serial connection to a desktop PC or server.
This unit ships with a power supply to provide local power.
EXTender 1000 RIM Remote Interface Module
The EXTender 1000 RIM Remote Interface Module is installed at the remote
location. It contains one RJ-11 connector for an ADIX Digital Display
Key Telephone, one RJ-11 connector for an analog line, and one DB9 connector
for RS232C serial connection to a desktop PC. This unit ships with a power
supply to provide local power.
There are two options for connecting the EXTender 1000 SIM to the PSTN:
Direct connection of a dedicated analog line directly to the EXTender
1000 SIM, or connection to an ADIX APS or ADIX-VS Single Line Port. When
the second option is used, any ADIX APS or ADIX-VS PSTN connection (i.e.,
T1, ISDN PRI, ISDN BRI, loop start) may be used for remote access. This
helps maximize trunk usage. The EXTender 1000 RIM always requires a dedicated
analog line at the remote site. Remote users can also access a PC or server
that is connected to the EXTender 1000 through a serial connection at
the main location.
